Jai Shree Krishna, Me and my husband both got married couple of years ago (white wedding). It is a cross culture wedding. I am a hindu (born in Mauritius) and my husband is a white Caucasian. Due to covid we were never able to do our hindu wedding. We are looking to get married in our flat with only our parents and siblings (small wedding of 10 people). We are looking for a priest who is able to do a small short wedding with both haldi and vivah on the same day- (to start with a ganesh puja if possible). We live in Newton Leys. We are flexible with when we want it to be done, ideally end July if possible or late winter. Can you please let me know if you can do it and pricing please. Can you please recommend a priest that can do the services for us please.

Hello! I am working on a television documentary series for BBC1. The series is looking at how people from faith backgrounds (Christianity, Judaism, Sikhism, Hinduism and Islam) draw on their faith and community during universal life events, for instance motherhood, finding love, looking after aging parents and relationship problems. We are looking for stories where people feel they can draw on the wisdom of their faith and community for support in challenging times. It is a celebratory series that gives a viewer some insight into the wisdom in each religion and what the religion brings each person. I would love to speak to you about this series and find out whether you might be able to help us spread the word to your members. If possible let me know a good time to call. Many thanks, Rachel. 07561324706

JSK All I was not sure who to direct this to? It would be a shame if the project does not have a representative for the Hindu community. This is something we will have in MK and we will not be part of it is we cant have a representative. Perhaps the committee is already aware of this - sorry if you already know. Thank you, Sunita xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Dear colleagues, With support from Milton Keynes Council and Arts Council England, Offset Projects is thrilled to be bringing together a steering group of representatives aged 16 – 25 years from eight Milton Keynes (MK) organisations to commission a new artwork for the town. The co-commission will seek to build upon what many young people in MK express as their top concerns: careers and future pathways; equality and representation; and environmental sustainability. Alongside the commission, the group will work with Offset and the Museum of Youth Culture to begin research and development for a proposed youth culture exhibition in 2022, designed to spark conversations about the highlights and challenges of being young today and throughout recent history. The process will be supported by a series of training opportunities enabling individuals to grow confidence, communication and team working skills, as well the specific skills required for commissioning and research. We are delighted to invite you to select up to two individuals aged 16-25 to represent your organisation on the steering group. By doing so, organisations will have the opportunity to: be supported in consulting with younger members of their organisation and wider community to gain a valuable insight into youth culture today join forces with project partners in celebrating MK’s young communities, championing their opinions, and amplifying their voice(s) provide individuals you support the opportunity to discover new pathways and interests contribute to citywide intergenerational conversations about topics concerning the current generation and those which gripped past generations, for example, issues addressed by pioneers of the first Pride in the 1970s and those faced by LGBTQ+ communities today contribute to the proposed 2022 exhibition and accompanying events programme be acknowledged in all local and national publicity This opportunity is designed to support steering group members who have experienced limited access to higher education and/or career opportunities. No specialist experience of art, commissioning artwork or research is required. The steering group will be supported to consider everyday experiences of art and artworks in its broadest sense e.g., film, music, gaming, books etc. alongside more traditional forms, if appropriate. Open mindedness and some lived experience of ‘being young in MK’ is all that is required. Further information is attached to this email and can also be downloaded here. The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 31st October 2021. Places are limited and representatives will be selected to form a diverse mix of mix of voices, knowledge, and perspectives. If you have any questions at all, or would like to arrange a discussion, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! Warm wishes, Tara Page (she/her) & Victoria Gibb (she/her) Offset Projects Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & LinkedIn Supporting children and young people to develop the tools for today so they can better shape their tomorrow. Hello, We were wondering if you would be able and interested in helping us let people know about a forthcoming dance production that we have at MK Gallery next Thursday that may be of interest. Pagrav Dance is a show suitable for all ages. Kattam Katti transports you to Uttarayan, the world-famous festival in Gujurat, North India where millions of people from different cities, religions and social classes come together to fly kites in a unique event marking the transition from winter into spring. Tales of competition, danger, excitement and unity are vividly brought to life in a joyous and uplifting show. Tapping into the competitive chaos, creativity and colour of the event, Pagrav Dance Company brings to life stories with enchanting lyricism, exquisite technique and strong drama. Founded by acclaimed dancer, choreographer and teacher Urja Desai Thakore (recently BBC Young Dancer choreographer), the company creates work rooted in classical Indian Kathak styles fused with contemporary storytelling and design. Created and performed by a new generation of British dancers of Indian heritage and accomplished musicians playing specially composed music live, the company brings to life the excitement of Uttarayan with lyricism, drama and exquisite technique. We are invited into the highs and lows, loves and losses of the festival and ultimately of our connections with each other, drawing parallels with universal themes of society’s inequalities. For more information then do take a look at our website here If you need any more information at all or some images then do let us know. Thanks in advance. Thanks, Sam MK Gallery

Good afternoon. I am head of RE at Broughton Manor Prep School. I am organising a religious tour and would really like the children to visit the Hindu centre and maybe spend some time learning about the culture and traditions. Could you let me know if this is something that would be possible. I plan on visiting the church in the old village and want to make our trip as broad and encompassing of all religions as possible. Many thanks
