Navratri in Milton Keynes (MK) is always special and unique. The festivities for Navratri like previous years have been very successful, hundreds turning up everyday to take part, to rejoice, to celebrate and to embrace their family and friends on this most unique and auspicious event. The successful event is organised by MK Hindu Association that brings all Hindus together in MK and surrounding areas.
Commenting on the events, Roshan Bhabutta President said 'I am always humbled each year when I see so many people who put on such beautiful costumes each day, come to the event, take such an active part in the Raas Garba and then the next day, they are all fit and well to go back to work or school - truly amazing'.
The proportion of children and the youth has steadily grown in attendance and MKHA can now boast that this group makes up about 50% of the people attending the function - this is truly exceptional and all credit to the organisers for getting it right, and to the parents who take the time to inculcate such wonderful values in their children.
Manju Koria, newly elected Vice President and in charge of MKHA Education said, 'This is such a colourful event, there is music, dance and above all - warmth and friendship. One big happy family, everyone enjoying the moment and taking time towards their spiritual development. The children in particular give so much joy to everyone. They dance the night away with such energy and laughter that it is catchy'.
MK Hindu Association will also be hosting their annual Diwali celebrations for the first time at MK Theatre. This is bound to be yet another excellent event and those wishing to attend - you must book your tickets early to avoid disappointment. Ticket directly from MK Theatre or from www.mkha.org/tickets.htm.
