Roshan Bhabutta BDS - President and Lead on Hindu Elders Scheme

Roshan was born in Kenya and completed his schooling in Kenya as well as India, culminating in a degree course at the renowned St Andrews University in Scotland.  He is a graduate in Dentistry (BDS) and after a short spell of private practice in Kenya and then in Uganda, he joined the British Army in 1964.  His career moved on rapidly in the Army with placements in countries as diverse as Germany and Hong Kong.  At the time of his retirement in 1995, after a distinguished service to Her Majesty of over 30 years, Roshan had reached the rank of full Colonel.  After retirement Roshan settled down in Milton Keynes and became actively involved with the local community.  He is the President of the MKHA and in this role he strives to work day and night to bring communities together.  He is also the Captain of the Local Golf Team, which has seen measured success since he became their leader.

 

Raj Chauhan - Trustee of MKHA

Raj was born in East Africa and completed his education in Birmingham. Raj has over 26 years of experience in the public sector, predominantly in audit and project management. He has lived and worked in MK for the last 17 years and during this time he has supported MKHA throughout its development, and served on the committee for a period of time as well. He is married and has one son who is currently at Exeter University.

Raj works for the local council as a Performance and Quality Officer. His training & qualification is in internal auditing procedures and processes and project management. He has recently completed NVQ 5 in operational management and is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute. Raj is also a trained quality assurance assessor for the European Foundation of Quality Management. Recently he has been appointed to the Board of Gharana Housing Association as a Non-Executive Director.

 

Kanti Koria - Secretary

Kanti was born in Kenya and came to the UK in 1971. He settled in the Northwest from where he undertook further education in Cheshire and Lancashire. This was followed by him entering the world of work when he commenced his employment with the Civil Service. Kanti held a variety of posts in The Employment Service which culminated in his appointment as an Adjudication Officer.

Kanti relocated to Milton Keynes in 1987. He continued to work as an Adjudication Officer before transferring to HM Customs and Excise (now known as HM Revenue & Customs) in 1993. He is currently employed in the capacity of an Assurance Officer.

Kanti is married and has two teenage sons, one of whom is at University. He is keen on fitness and takes part in regular exercise through various indoor sports. More recently, Kanti has taken a proactive interest in the life and work of the MK Hindu Association where his services were to be quickly valued and lead him to become the elected Secretary.

Vinod Pandya is the Asst. Treasurer of the Milton Keynes Hindu Association.

 

Ashok Tosar B Pharm(Hons), MRParmS – Chair of MKHA Trustee Board

Ashok was born in Uganda and came to the UK with his family.  He completed his formal education in the UK leading to becoming a qualified pharmacist by attaining an honours degree from University of Wales & Institute of Science and Technology in 1979.  He has since become a prominent business leader in Milton Keynes with business interests in Pharmacy and the Post Office.

He is married and has two teenage children.  Ashok has been a long-standing trustee of MKHA and has also been an active mover in the establishment of the first Hindu Community Centre in Milton Keynes.  He is a leading citizen, well loved and trusted by both the Hindu and the wider community.

 

Darshana Jagatia LLB (Hons) - Projects (Legal Advisor)

Darshana was born in Tanzania, lived for a period in Zambia and came to the UK  with her family in 1977. The family have settled in Milton Keynes since then. She completed her education in the UK. A Solicitor by profession, she is a Partner in a prominant Law Firm which is the oldest established Practice in Milton Keynes. She is also inter-alia a member of the Law Society's family law panel and was until recently, the Public Relations Officer of the local Law Society. In addition, Darshana is a member of the Bedfordshire, Berkshire and Oxon Law Society as well as the National Law Society.  Her general interests have led her to become a member of Amnesty International. 

Darshana showed her initial interest in the Hindu Association in the mid '90s, a time during which the Jagatia family was also actively involved in setting the foundations of the now thriving Hindu Association. Darshana went on to become the Chair of the organisation.  Currently she is a Trustee as well as being at the forefront of the Community Centre Project Team.

 

Rajen Ladwa (BSc. Hons)

Rajen Ladwa has lived in Milton Keynes for the past six years. He is married and works for Fujitsu UK & Ireland as a Problem Manager for Mercedes-Benz UK. Rajen graduated from Coventry University in 2000 with an honours degree in Geography and Computing.
